While amino acids supplementation is beneficial for nearly everyone, there are a few populations for whom they may not be appropriate:
- Those with kidney or liver conditions may want to monitor their protein intake, as excess protein can put strain on kidneys and since the liver metabolizes protein.
- Those whose diet contains a sufficient amount of essential amino acids from nutrient-dense proteins.
- Those following a low-protein diet for medical reasons or as prescribed by a doctor.
- Children
As always, consult with your healthcare provider before supplementing.
